Penis Contact with Cage Bars/Vent Holes...Any Cause for Concern ?

Post by JimR »

Even short-term cage wear, can result in imprints on the penis, depending on the type of cage in use. This can range from semi-circular imprints from bar-type cages, to forms of various shapes and sizes, depending on the cage design. In my case, I also have issues from foreskin protrusion through openings, resulting in edema. My wearing schedule has been basically of short term duration, with periods of 24-48 hours typical. I am considering significantly extending wear time to a few days continuous, but concerned over potential skin damage from longer term contact with cage and edema issue. Situation may be compounded by my age (76), and my skin seems to be becoming thinner and more fragile. Would appreciate your perspective, particularly from those who are older and engage in long term wear.

i’m 69 and locked 24/6/365. General day to day contact between my s/s cage and my cock (i have a very tiny and tight cage) is no issue, no different to wearing a ring on your finger if you think about it. i have had the occasional spot get tender and need a few days unlocked to sort it out but other than that nothing. i’ve been locked 24/7 now basically for 4 years.

After a year post covid of “freedom” I am trialing a good old HT V3 nub modified by me to have a glans ring so no pullout. Working well so far.

I'm 73 and, like @slave d, locked 24/7/365 in a Jail Bird. When I am released for medical appointments or thorough cage cleaning there are indentations present that go away after an hour or so. Normal and nothing to worry about.

Don't take the edema threat lightly - I've had the same struggle for years. I'm still looking for a way to prevent edema, and there is no consensus on a root cause. My longest continuous lock up was about 10 days, and I had an ugly surprise waiting for me. Everything healed up, but as an older guy, it took longer than I wanted. You definitely want to avoid necrosis!! Good luck, @JimR and keep us posted!

I recommend gradually increasing your wearing times and seeing how long it takes for the indentations to go away.

I get fairly deep indentations if I take a device off soon after numerous erection attempts (such as first thing in the morning or after watching porn), but they go away within 15 to 30 minutes.

MostlyHappy.. Thanks for your post...I have experimented with various ways to prevent the edema issue. One thing that seems to work, although not perfect, is to take a condom catheter and use it to line the cage. Tube from catheter sticks through exit opening, and will allow urinal use, which is a plus. You can also don the condom catheter just like a regular condom, lube the outside, and wait until you are at your smallest to (hopefully) fully insert the covered penis into the cage. These methods are sometimes tricky, and folds in the condom may be an issue on occasion. For cages with only the end opening for urination and a couple of vent holes, I have taken half of the condom catheter with the tube, and rolled the cut edge over to make a funnel approximately 1inch in length, which I insert into the cage. In my limited short-term experimentation, following use, there has been a small irregular skin area, where the skin contacts the condom/cage interface, but no evidence of skin injury or edema. The funnel approach also offers the advantage, of allowing attaching a source of water to the condom tube, and flushing out the condom funnel, as well as some flushing of the cage in the process. May not be perfect, but probably better than any cleaning that can be performed with the cage in place using other methods.. The condom catheters are readily available from many medical supply houses for $1-2 each. I would choose silicone, to avoid the latex allergy issue. They should be readily reusable, and when using just the funnel technique, might last indefinitely. Just my thoughts, and of course YMMV.

Im in a MM Jailbird 24/7 for years now. My wife loves the marks left on my penis when she removes the cage. She will try to keep my hard and straining against the cage for hours before removal to increase the grooves that remain after removal. So far, no ill effects.

I have a small cage and thick cock, and when I remove the cage there are imprints on the skin...they go away after a few minutes. As for skin irritations, those are hard to avoid, but I believe in removing the cage for cleaning every shower for just such reasons of safety and hygiene...I don't have the irrational need to be locked without ever taking it off. I don't see the point in that.

I’m curious, how is the need to never take it off any more irrational than the need to be locked up between showers?

As for imprints. My dick looks comical when I first remove the cage, with all the bar imprints and gaping peehole. No harm done though. It fascinates C.

I don't take it off for showers. Nothing to do with needing to be locked irrationally. It's just a pain in the butt taking it off now I have this steel insert and we'll.. I don't have a key anyway. Once C realised I could get it clean without and use the hair dryer to remove all the moisture she hasn't considered release for cleaning.
Mind you she did ask once "would you play with it in the shower" and I replied "fuck yes!".
