Post Orgasm Blues

I've read about the chemistry associated with male orgasm. I'm interested in the effect of prolactin.

Prior to chastity, I was not aware of the impact of prolactin. I am now. After a couple of weeks being locked up, the impact of an orgasm can be quite detrimental to my mood. I am learning to watch for it, and to be careful in my interactions with others. The impact to me can last for up to week.

Is this because:

1. Before chastity, and having orgasms frequently, does the brain become desensitized due to a constant bath of prolactin? As a result, you didn't notice a change in mood after an orgasm?

2. With chastity, and fewer orgasms and less prolactin, is the brain now much more sensitive to prolactin, and the impact is much more noticeable?

3. Or, the orgasm felt so damned good that I am just really grumpy when it is over and it will be a long time before the next?

Thoughts?

I’m not a Dr but my thoughts would be all of the above. I am fairly new to the chastity lifestyle but have noticed the drop when having an orgasm now after being kept for a while. I have only had a couple real orgasms and a few ruined ones in the past few months but definitely feel low after full orgasms.

This is the main reason why i and MsM are ensuring i often have the “high” associated with arousal but never have the “low” caused by full orgasm. Yes that means no full orgasms again full stop !!

This is a hard subject to find an answer to, we like the denial and the high you get when denied for extended periods, you also dont want the low after orgasm, but we all still really want cum, strange?.

Ditto to Steph17. Sometimes when I haven't cum in what for me is a long time, like 3 weeks, my wife will ask me if I want to cum. When she asks that I am always really conflicted. Cumming feels great but that charged up feeling also feels great.

Truly a dilemma for the sages to resolve.

I suffer with the same decision. An orgasm is what I think about a lot. But, when given the opportunity, I don't want it and the associated drop.

It shouldn't be that difficult to decide...

If you play with this with a partner long enough, you will realize there isn’t a perfect way to manipulate your hormones. Even when you hold out indefinitely, eventually the novelty and high wears off as your body adjusts. Also, if your partner enjoys giving you an orgasm, and you hold out, you can come across as self absorbed or stingy and that impacts intimacy, which also impacts the joy of playing with this.

Not wanting the high to end is something most of us feel. What helps me is:

1) enjoy it while it lasts as long as it lasts and thank your partner.
2) realize realistically it will eventually end
3) sex is great, and don’t think of it as getting in the way of your fun
4) starting over carries its own fun
5) a little post orgasm blues aren’t going to kill you
6) experiment with ways to end things (ruined orgasm, novel sex)
7) if you are working on other things that help your sexy life (health, relationship) then the revound tends to be shorter
8) don’t dispair if sometimes it takes longer than others to rebound—lots of things impact sexual desire, even the desire to engage in denial—chastity doesn’t cure everything, it’s another version of playing

Isn’t it funny when men act like women are the hormonal ones?

When Mrs. Twisted gets going, I may spend as much as 18 months caged, allowed orgasms may be 1-3 months apart with T&D in between.

After a while, even an allowed 'full' orgasms seems to feel as though it is mostly 'ruined', and if the cage is replaced immediately after there is little or no 'drop' and by the next day I feel like I'm just as horny as I was before.

I still haven't figured out if the 'mostly ruined' is due to atrophy of the muscles responsible for ejaculation, or if because I am so 'conditioned' to hold back that I just can't relax enough to let it happen.
