What are you searching for?

No, not searching for the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

Those of you who use the Search function for the site: what are you searching for? Specific people? Terms? Devices? Advice?

Also, how often are you searching? Every visit? Once in a while?

Your mod team is curious, in terms of how we can make small improvements here.

Have to say i rarely if ever use search, if i do it’s most likely to be for a particular chastity device.

for example: "honor", since I am curious to see how many others are using this method other than me, PIV, because we do it often, and such terms like "session", "RO". In other words I tend to look for post that talk about things similar to what we do.

When I search it is usually for terms related to a particular subject matter. Whether using the overall search or trying to search inside a particular forum, I haven't found the search feature to work very well.

@KittensBoyToy The search feature uses CPU, and I'm cheap-ass, so we're running on 1 vCPU for 5/month :). There is a way to speed this up considerably, though it, unfortunately, requires going outside the forum.

Hop on DuckDuckGo.
Enter
site:chastityforums.com WhatEverYoureSearchingFor

That returns results in a second or less. DDG having proper cloud servers and all :).

Is there a way to get all of the words typed in a search to come up in consecutive order and not include each individual word?

for instance:

If I try just another day I get everything with any one of the words.

If I try "just another day" I get all posts with only the word another in them.

I also tried just+another+day as my search. All 3 words came up consecutively, but so did each individual word.

I haven't had good results searching on a specific phrase; it seems that most search engines try to be helpful by tossing in results with all the words.

I've been trying the different private browser search engines. DuckDuckGo is the more widely known one, but there's Start Page (who bought Ixquick), and both have some decent tools, but both also tend to give results with all the words, instead of the phrase.

Guess I'll just use the + between the words. At least that way our search gives what is being searched for in addition to the individual words.
