We need to change our board icon. "Thumper" is going to get us into trouble eventually.

I'd love some suggestions. We have two uses for it: Up top in the banner, and as an icon in the browser tab and on a mobile home screen.

Simpler is better. The busier the image, the harder it is to make it into a square icon for mobile use.

So far, we have two ideas that came out of the admin forum.

In the "cat and rooster" example, I'd use just the cat image as the square icon for browser tab and home screen.

I'd love to hear suggestions, particularly from keyholders. The whole point of this forum is to make it accessible for "vanilla" partners, and that definitely extends to the image we use.

Personally it doesn't worry me as nobody else uses my phone or computer but i can see how the new one might invite investigation by somebody. Not sure that i can see any real way around that overall unless you used something completely benign like a blue triangle or something, really people shouldn't be leaving these anywhere they could be investigated by anybody unwanted !! That said i have to say i don't really get the rabbit or chicken as an option, something like a padlock seems more logical or perhaps the femdomme symbol

Bingo. That’s thumper. We can’t use that image. A generic rabbit sure, but not thumper.

Depends on how explicit you want to be. That’s why I was hoping to hear from some keyholders. Rabbit, unicorn, those are symbols that aren’t directly related to locks or femdomme, but have some relevant meaning. Rabbit because of the founder of the board, that’s how he thinks of his sub persona. Unicorn because symbol of chastity. Cat and rooster because - do I have to spell this out?

I think guys tend towards “let’s depict the thing the board is about directly”. That‘s one option.

I like the lock and key. Kitty and rooster, I’m not seeing how to do both in the icon, and either without the other seems weird. I hate what unicorn has come to stand for, and I beg you not to make me see that everyday.

Here's my contribution. I usually see it nightly on my wife's tank top that she wears to bed.

This is also likely copyrighted at CafePress but maybe someone here could do something similar with a generic picture, maybe from a weather vane.

@locked4her55 I really like the heart-shaped lock, that's cute. I've gone with that. If you or anyone else comes across a 512x512 or better version of that, I can redo the forum icon for devices with higher resolution.

No shade, @Tom Allen , I'd rather not use something that's heterosexual. The number of non-hetero members is tiny, and yet not 0. The lock is more neutral.

What if we had an actual logo made?

Would you be ok with that? I can have one made that would belong to the forums - well me but my gift to the forums... Let me know
