Phantom Cage

Post by Lockedchef »

I just had my longest continual lockup to date, 28 days. Left the cage off and went to work today and boy was that weird. I couldn't figure out what was odd about today at first but the first time I went to the restroom and didn't feel the cage it was a little strange. I'm enjoy the extra freedom but it still feels strange right now. Funny how this happens with things and your body gets used to it. No different from a ring or watch you always wear I suppose.

Yeah, cages can become part of your normal feeling.
My first experience with a phantom cage was when I had my first longer stretch. LRC had unlocked me for mutual pleasures before going to bed and she told me to leave the cage off for the night. The next morning when I was sitting on the toilet peeing I thought "Why am I setting when I could be standing?"

Reminds me of Jack Nicholson in "About Schmidt". One of the first things he does after his wife dies is stand up in the bathroom and piss all over the place. She made him sit to pee their entire marriage.

Was "free" for a day a few weeks back and we went to the movies. After the show I stopped by the bathroom and was standing at the urinal when it hit me. Didn't have to be concerned with lining myself up so I didn't have an accident.

It was nice but I do miss not having it on and the feeling associated with being "secured". :D

Having been free for most of the year, I am quite enjoying waking up with an unencumbered 'stiffy' after a full night of sleep rather than being rudely awakened after not enough sleep.

Mrs. Twisted has asked a couple of times if I was wearing it, to which I simply replied "No"...apparently, she still doesn't quite 'get it', even after so many years- wearing it just to wear it does nothing for me, I don't 'want' to wear it. It is only arousing to be *forced* to wear it (for me, YMMV).

For someone who has a job that takes some brains, and who went back to college to finish her degree (abandoned 30 years previously) and graduated summa cum laude from a fairly prestigious university just this Spring, she can still be pretty 'thick' and completely miss the obvious...sometimes even after being told straight out.

Maybe that's a subject for another thread- how a person can [appear to] be 'intelligent' (and may, in fact *be* very bright in some areas) but lacks the facility to grasp some things that seem obvious to others. ('Common sense' vs. 'book smart'?)

However, it does illustrate the need for communication, and being sure that each person actually understands *correctly* the idea being communicated. Sometimes, one might claim to understand, and even seem to understand, but then little clues may indicate that he/she did not, in fact, arrive at the same understanding that was intended...and that goes for all areas and even the world at large in general.

There is a commercial on TV now. I can't remember the product (it's obviously not something I need), but it has a couple watching tv together, and she mentions that she'd love some pickles to go with her ice cream. The guy replies that she's been asking for all sorts of weird food combinations lately, and what's wrong with her?

Mrs Edge and I both laughed at this, and while the commercial portrays the guy as being dumb or dense, I pointed out that a lot of us really do not like hints, and would prefer straight up to be told. Our lizard brains are already engaged in sports scores, bills, oil changes, ammo prices, yard chores, and internet porn. We only have so much processing power.
