Hi, My name is Danny and I'm an addict.

Anyway, I wanted to start a new topic as an adjunct to some things I saw in Dev's Model topic.
For me, my addiction started at a very early age around 10 or 11. I think that I knew I had a problem and I've tried several times to kick the habit with no success.
The toughest part of trying to stop were the year plus longer trips I made overseas for "work".
Masturbation became one of the few stress relievers/entertainment available. When I came home, I basically just wanted to go solo rather than have sex with my wife.

The event that's really put things into perspective was when I broke my leg. I have had alot of time to contemplate my behaviour and it is quite disgusting.

Long story short, now I don't come unless my wife gives the say so. I'm pretty happy with it and I know my wife is definitely liking it.

My problem with this line of thought is it continues the bullshit propositions that masturbation is a dirty thing and men can't control their sexuality. It's not and they can. Now, if it's become a replacement for your significant other, that's a problem. I know that's where many (but hardly all) around here are coming from. Over time, you drift apart. Things change. Stuff happens. And all of a sudden the guy's dealing with things as they arise and losing interest in the path of most resistance. Can you go overboard? Sure thing. Does that mean you're addicted? No way. I think the fallacy is pinning blame in that situation solely on the man who, AFAIC, is only doing what's natural. There's two people in the relationship. Two people to drift apart. Two people who forget sometimes how it's all supposed to work. And besides, what about women who masturbate? Are they simply victims of their selfishly self-pleasuring husbands?

Which is, of course, not to say that a very small percentage of men can become unhealthily obsessive with it. IMO, though, all this "my name is so and so and I'm an addict" talk is just taking things too far.

But, you know, as long as you're happy. Who am I to say?

I agree with you that masturbation is totally healthy.
I love to do it and that is exactly the problem.
Averaging about 4-7 times a day and I think that it's a big problem. Especially when it is draining all sexual interest from my side of the marriage.

My wife on the other hand had no idea that I was masturbating that much. She was blaming herself for the lack of intimacy when the problem was my behaviour.

I am way happier in my marriage that I have ever been. No more hiding out in the office lurking and jerking.

My introduction my have been a bit harsh, but I honestly believe I am addicted to self-pleasure and I deal with it everyday.

I don't know you so I can't say if you had a problem or not. 4-7 times seems like a lot, but it depends on so many things. Regardless, I still maintain that men get the blame for jacking off and ruining their sex lives when it's both sides in the relationship that makes it work.

I am impressed with 4-7 times a day. I was once maybe twice a day and it gave me tennis elbow.

When I was a young fellow I was good for 6 to 7 times a day. Living with a woman who was nearly twice my age was perfect, because she was up for it too. Unfortunately, this made her husband very unhappy, and angry.

I was a chronic masturbater. My wife was furious when she found out the reason I was not able to fuck her every day because I was jacking off every day. Locked ever since the day she caught in in 2018.
