Vasectomy - what kind of anesthetics did they use?

Hope I am not too off topic.
Being in Chastity and having our relationship work really well again I decided to give my wife the present of a Vasectomy that she can stop harming her body.

Went to the 2nd best clinic in Latin America and was told "most of my patients like to go to sleep". I shuddered because everything I read says it is only with local anesthetics. Who here had one done and was it full or local for you? Would you do it again the same way?

Thanks

Local is all I had and drove home and back at work the next day. Don't risk a general, way over the top.

I agree, they gave me valium to take the edge off and then it was a local.

i had mine done in 1995 with a local anaesthetic, i didnt drive home as my wife would not allow it, and I did have 3 weeks off work paid sick, as i had a kitchen to install in our 1st house haha, Yes i would do it again, took minutes, I did however have a General last year for two ops on both hands at the same time, first ever in 48 years but that was the surgeons choice not mine.

Mine was about 15 years ago and I watched the whole thing. My wife who was out in the waiting room couldn't believe I was done so quickly. Piece of cake, and I wouldn't hesitate to have it done again if it was needed. I did take the doctors advice and laid low for the next 48 hours.

I remember getting home and my wife waiting on me all weekend. Every 1/2 hour I received a very cold package of frozen peas to help keep the swelling down. Then at Monday nights dinner we were having peas as a vegetable. I looked at my wife and pointed to the peas in my plate and she nodded with a smile. It was then I said to my 4 year old daughter. "Sweetie these are very special peas tonight. You won't ever have peas like these again".

Funny, the subject of mine just recently came between my wife and I, nearly 11 years after it was done, while discussing a current health issue of mine. My experience was far from a good experience and I will share it with you just so you understand the importance of making sure you get the best doctor possible.

I worked in a hospital at the time and asked the head of our surgical department who a good urologist was. Without asking anyone else's opinion, I made an appointment. Had my first consult and seemed simple enough so the procedure was scheduled.

Went in for the procedure and the nurse lead me into the room and started prepping things, even gave me several shots of local anesthetic the area. In came the doctor and he immediately started poking around. I told him that I still had feeling there. He said that it was normal to have some feeling of pressure while he poked around. He made an incision and I about jumped through the roof. There was NO loss of feeling at all. The doctor turned to the nurse and asked how much anesthetic she administered and then commented that it was not enough for someone my size.

Here is the SCARIEST part: Instead of stopping and administering more, he finished the side he had already started, then administer more anesthetic before starting the second side. I felt EVERYTHING.

Several months later, his medical privileges had been revoked at every hospital in the area and he was shunned by the medical community because he had gone completely CRAZY!

Pick your doctor VERY carefully and make sure they aren't CRAZY! I am enjoy S&M, but this was TOO MUCH for me.

20+ years ago. A local for me too, but they did have to add some more when some feeling returned and I had an "ouch" moment, but nothing serious. Only negative is a few small lumps (granulomas) in my ball-sack, but they are harmless. When I first noticed them I had an ultrasound just to check it out.

I had local and went golfing the next day. They ached and we're sore for a few days but I'm used to that. I get ballbustings regularly lol

Just a "sedative"and local for me too almost 18 years ago. Wife had to come with to drive me home. Did the usual ice pack stuff for the rest of the day or two. Next evening went to a wedding reception and danced a lot. The jock strap was a bit bloody, but wasn't really in a condition to care too much. Now I just have a little star-scar on the sack for my memories. Definitely get a good urologist to do it though. Most interesting thing to me was that if my wife wanted to get her tubes tied, she'd have to get me to sign all sorts of stuff. I could have gotten anyone to drive me and never tell my wife. Paid by insurance, but the doctor warned me reversing it would be at my expense.

I had a local for mine, too. I felt a little discomfort for the weekend immediately after, but I was back to work on Monday, iirc.

Yeah, I'd avoid the general anesthesia...it's MAJOR overkill. I dunno if the doctor is just trying to get paid more or what, but it seems kinda shady, to be honest.
