Some parts of the anatomy may not dry out properly. All this can lead to lesions, bruises, or other issues. Regular maintenance is needed to catch, and hopefully avoid problems.

If we assume "freedom" means some restoration of individual sexual rights, then such maintenance is difficult since it implies something that we or our keholder may not want. I know it's exciting to me when I am released for a while. I think we need to consider some updates to contracts or other agreements that say we expect to be temporarily released for cleaning and inspection once a week and that this release will not include any sexual activity. Some people like to make CB wearing a marathon and don't want release for extended periods. Seems risky to me, but that's an individual decision.

Non sexual release from a CB for a short or extended time is an opportunity for us to demonstrate that our chastity and obedience is not because of the hardware, but because of our respect for our keyholders. I am going to ask my wife if she would consider this. All this came up because last night I got a sexual release. When she inspected me, she found a dark bruise. She is going to watch this to make sure it heals. The next inspections and cleanings will not include sexual activity. I need to learn and accept the difference between maintenance and fun.

How far in advance do you schedule these events?

No schedule.... when shaving is needed it happens.

As for scheduled release - never - I'm in charge I decide when and if he is allowed out. The only thing "scheduled" is Maybe Day because that marks the possible end of the denial period.

In my case release is often associated with sex, but this is because my keyholder wants that feeling. She has a bull for some occasions, but if she wants me I feel she should be allowed to have me. That's been my experience as well. This week we went straight from release to a hand job. It was pretty uncomfortable for me. I will ask for recovery time next time she decides to give me an O.

I find changing cages helps sometimes - just a breather and different pressures. In an ideal world it would be great to spring out of a several month lock up like a cucumber! I tried 24/7 at first but there seems to be one small section of skin that gets irritated no matter how I configure my CB6000s or how much lube I put on. After a few hours it starts to feel like it is burning and yet there are no red spots and it is not sore to the touch. The other issue is that even though I am using the smallest ring that fits me and it is a struggle to get into it, and the smallest spacer they supply, I sometimes woke up with the CD off of me.
