Ok, a question for all you out there with a PA piercing or a SO with one. How bad is the pain, and is it worth it? It has always been one of those things that Jnuts ruled out, and I never really cared about one way or another. Well like everything else, we are now saying well maybe....

Wow, you really are going from zero to 60 in three seconds, aren't you? I don't mean that negatively, I am a little bit jealous. I can't talk Ab into a PA because he had such a sore, painful experience with one nipple (the other one was fine). What I have heard from guys is that the PA heals quickly and doesn't hurt so much. I think that, as with any piercing, after care is essential. The more meticulous the person is about keeping the piercing clean and rotating the jewelry, the better off s/he is. And, as I like to say, saline soaks are your friend....

FWIW, my nipples hurt a whole lot less than my navel, and healed faster, too. (The navel piercing has since been removed.)

OK, so a few things. First, the piercing itself is not that painful. Honestly, the worst part is when the receiving tube is inserted into the urethra. I can't recall the moment the needle went through. It was all over and the ring was in before I even knew it, but that tube burned.

Second, my PA idea with the JB did not work. Too often, little bits of skin get pinched between the ring and the JB's bars. Usually, it's just a twinge for a second, sometimes several seconds, but it's really annoying and it made the end of the cock all pink and pissed off looking. The little bar I had put in was a total bust. Besides the extra pinching that happens from the existing cage parts, it's not even necessary. I was able to put the ring around the lower crossbar at the end of the cage with no trouble. However, there was still pinching. No way around it, actually.

Finally, keep in mind that you'd not be able to use the piercing for security purposes for at *least* 6 weeks after it was done, probably longer. Add about a week after it's totally healed each time you stretch to the next gauge (you start at 10 or 8 - I'm at 4 now and holding).

Dev's right. The PA is, from what I've read and heard, maybe the easiest piercing a guy can get. The actual amount of tissue pierced is very small and it basically cleans itself (yay, sterile urine!) so twice daily saline soaks are all you need to do. Most guys don't bleed much, but there are exceptions. The 4-8 week healing period is considered short.

If MyKey sees this, he should comment. He recently had it done and probably has something useful to add.

This is an interesting question. I've had my ears pierced forever (since before I met Ab) and he's never played with my earrings or even expressed much interest in them. Way back when, he even wondered why I had them pierced.

Our intimate piercings, on the other hand, have been much more shared. He likes my nipple rings, he loops chains through them, he plays with them...they are very much for us. This is why I'd like him to get a PA (and also a frenum piercing but one step at a time as they say). Something for both of us to enjoy.

Tattoos are sexy and hot to look at; piercings are much more intimate.
