So let's see what people actually think about this?

I asked LRC about this and her feeling is that it wouldn't be a turn-off but is something that she would find boring. To quote her "After you see one cock in a cage what is the difference? The cages change but what little you see of the cock does nothing for me"

Polls can be informative and fun but when We're trying to figure out what someone else may think... I have a feeling that "inaccurate" almost covers it. I can't begin to pretend to know what turns on or off a generic subsection of a small group of people. Maybe I'm just over-analyzing it.

I did see a lot of avatars change during the course of the first thread on this. While I agree that we may want to be more "new key-holder friendly", I don't think it needs to be put on a poll or a vote. If the owner, or mods think the forum would be less offensive to some visitors by changing what's allowed to be on the avatar pics then simply make it a rule. Regardless of how it's done someone will always disagree or be unhappy. May as well get it over with quickly.

These things are just my opinion though and I chose not to vote.

I think we are too broad minded to enforce anything.. If something was truly offensive it would probably be cause to request the user change it. Only the site owner can make a rule, the moderators cannot. That's a call for Thumper.

It's not inaccurate, people have the choice of yes or no, not maybe, that would be inaccurate. Remember what the question was. Also, as you did they don't have to vote.

I like Thumper's rule for the Forum: "Don't be a dick". I think that is sufficient, IMO.

I'd like to think we are all a bit open minded here. Even someone who is visiting. As soon as you start making distinctions then that's going to be a slippery slope. I do understand your point though. If the avatar pic was bigger than a postage stamp it might be a bit more in your face.

I think I will just stick with keeping avatars turned off. I'm easily offended
