The Journey Forums: Private or Public viewing?

We've had so many suggestions, I'll throw out another. The basic discussion is if an individual wants to keep their Journey posts for members only or not. Would it be feasible to have a second Journey section that only shows when a member is logged in?

When someone started a Journey post they could decide how they wanted it shown. This would allow people such as pseudo_self to pique their interest for chastity or joining. The people that would want their posts more private would then get it.

Personally, I think anyone that starts their own Journey thread isn't too concerned about non-members reading it.

I apologize if you felt that I was suggesting that we should “slash and burn” a post by a new member just because they did not follow instructions or even if they didn’t even read them at all.

Oh, no worries or need to apologize, I didn't feel that way. I was just explaining my 'style'. I would rather give a member in good standing an opportunity to make his own correction upon suggestion of why it should be so, rather than take a unilateral action that might generate a 'negative' emotional response. I have been subject to that sort of thing on other boards, and I don't particularly enjoy it...especially on one board (which shall remain nameless) where the dictators not only slash and burn on their whims, but also absolutely refuse to permit any objection or discussion of their actions- anyone who dissents is automatically banned, and as I recently discovered, may have unflattering remarks placed in their profile. Many long-term and well-respected members are suddenly becoming 'Not A Member' lately, and it is a sad trend.

As for post by members that are in the simply in the wrong thread, can a moderator move that post to the correct thread (if is appropriate) and post a reply indicating it has been moved and why. You would not be removing the post, just relocating it and at the same time informing the person who posted as well as any other member reading it the reason behind that. I see this as a simple education to all and hopefully the benefit would be less work in the future for the moderators.

This is occasionally done, although those occasions are relatively rare.

Fully agree that this could be a great apporach. have one public journey forum and one private one. Hopefully the ones that write in to the private one also know that the internet never forgets and sometimes it is possible to link the user name to a real name.....

Me too, I was much more intrigued into chastity play after reading the journey stories. Way before I registered. Was difficult to register as I did not get the meaning of "thumper" ;)

I'm a long-time lurker that finally signed up as a member. Seeing the additional forums for the first time made me realize the cost of my desire for full anonymity. As a (very) new member, I like the idea of having access to something extra for members. It's like having a key to the neighborhood pool—lurkers don't get that benefit, but members do.

So what's the conclusion? I'm all for having 2 forums of journeys, one public and one private. If so you can move my journey to the public forum. I learned a lot lurking here before I joined, and maybe some other lurkers would find something interesting in my journey.

As ive said else where Private for me, I dont understand "Lurkers", its hardly the same as going to AA, in joining a forum, its not like your even forced to join in !!! As a member gain from the benefits that being one brings.

I feel the same way. I think one of the biggest reasons I got into the chastity "lifestyle" was reading the honest journal entries in the Journey Forum. I was encouraged that there were other normal people out there that felt the same way I did. I think to hide it so that it's for members only really serves no purpose and instead limits the audience to only those who are already involved in this, and I don't think that's a benefit. As far as "lurkers", I don't get that at all. We were all in that same boat at some point, and if it's a matter of privacy aren't we all essentially anonymous on here anyway?
