Journeys disappeared for logged out users. Was that done one purpose?

Wow, I should have known that somebody would beat me to this.

Yes, The Journey forum is now only visible to Chastity Forum members. The Journey Is for members to create a blog for their personal use. It was an "open" forum, in that a reader did not need to be a registered forum member to view it. As more members have been using it, we have begun to wonder if there could be a privacy issue. We decided to make it a "Member Only" viewing to prevent data scraping, mining, or casual snooping.

The idea that a registered member would be reading while logged out never occurred to us. So, I guess that this topic would be a good time to ask the question: is this common?

I log in every time, so that I can make use of the "New Unread Posts" feature. With 1Password, it's as simple as CMD-\. :)

I agree that needing to be logged in is a better idea. I would suspect the majority of "Journey" posters would be more interested in sharing just with like-minded folks, rather than the whole troll-filled internet.

I log in every time so I can see if there's anything new in the Members Lounge and Administriva.

Thanks Tom for explaining.

For reading I don't log in. Just for writing or for looking up a Members profile or history.

What sold me on the chastity lifestyle before signing up where the journals. So I'd prefer them in the open. However fine with any decision you take. Thanks for the amazing forums.

It also never occurred to me that a member would not use the convenience of the auto-login feature...although, I suppose if one were sharing a computer with one's wife and didn't want her to know (but then, multiple logins on a machine have been available for a long time)...or if one were using a company computer at work (which is probably a bad idea in the first place)...but it lets you see at a glance if there are any new posts without needing to actually open each forum area to check.
