Ah I see, well it is a fairly subtle piece of metal, you could take the 47mm ring to a s/s fabricator, it would only take minutes to cut out 1/2 mm and reweld, easy then to file down and repolish yourself

If you then need finer adjustment you can bend the flat tab that goes over the back ring , up to give you more room or down to reduce the gap. I also shortened the tube by closing up the spirals until we got a perfect snug fit, went too far to start with but was a simple job to open back up slightly...

Having used numerous devices with padlocks resulting in scratches and bruises to Ms S, I was told under no circumstances would our ultimate final purchase (509 Euros) one have a padlock lock on it, or use a security screw fixing that I have every driver for in workshop as can anyone !!!
