More Mainstreaming (sort of)

Post by Tom Allen »

My presumption is that the regular users on this forum are an open-minded and (for the most part) GGG bunch. But just to keep our lives in perspective, allow me to present a recent discussion on the blog
"Feminist Mormon Housewives."

My own social group is a bit straight-laced, and I could well imagine many of the women I know thinking much along the same lines as some of the women who are posting here. That said, it's encouraging that so many other women have left comments of a different, more open and accepting nature.

It's a long thread, and it's not all chastity related, but it does present an interesting perspective on sexuality in a group that may be reflective of many people that you know.

Tom,

This is fascinating. The Mormon responders were even more open minded to male chastity that many of the supposedly open minded "swinger" types.

As a God-fearing man myself, so I mean this very sincerely, I feel that male chastity play is a kink that even God would approve of. (depending on what flavor of male chastity is practiced, of course)

For another perspective, consider the Jewish faith. Observant Jews practice something called Shomar Nida where the husband if forbidden to even touch his penis except for a relatively small time window during the month when his wife is expected to be most fertile. A Jewish woman once explained to me (and she was VERY observant) that male chastity fits (no pun intended) very well with Orthodox Jewish sex practices.

(for an oversimplifed version of Jewish sex "rules", most of them boil down to the husband saving his semen until and for the sole purpose of impregnating his wife.)

Thanks for this post Tom.

Interesting thread. Thanks for posting, Tom. I did skim through the 350+ comments and the ones on chastity seemed to be pretty accurate. They also piqued some interest and Sarah's blog got mentioned. I wonder if anyone will show up here. If so, welcome.

One comment that was alarming (nothing to do with chastity): can people really be getting married in this day and age and mistake a woman's navel for her vagina? Seriously?

Interesting posts on that link, seems the original person "Resse" really opened a flood gate... of pent up frustrations and an avenue to talk some of it out.

I've had a futeristic fictional story in the back of my head for over a year, in which chastity belts are "the standard", and only kinky wierdos do NOT wear CBs.... of course, in that story, it all began with the Mormons! lol. Perhaps I should write that story before it becomes part of a history text! lol

From one of the messages in that thread:

“Should we try [male chastity] right away or should we wait? If so, how long? A month? A year? I find the idea of him arriving at the honeymoon bed only to discover that he must concentrate on my pleasure alone and wait a few weeks for his own so hot!”

Color me jealous... kids nowadays have so much information. I suppose we're making up for lost time now, but to be able to start out your marriage that way?

It does sound hot to us, married folks with a few/many years of marriage under our belts and more than a little exploration of various sexual activities, some more kinkier than others. The young woman who posted that comment is engaged to be married and she and her fiancé are both virgins. Personally I think whipping out a CB on their wedding night would be a huge mistake with potentially disastrous consequences. Since we like to quote Dan Savage, he talks about levels of sex: JV, varsity, professional. I think chastity is probably at the varsity level and not really appropriate for two kids who are likely at the T-ball level of sexual experience. Just a thought.
