Shopping for a Jail Bird

Postby DeltaGeorge » Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:43 am

I'm looking at the Mature Metal website to purchase a Jail Bird. The first choice is a round or oval ring. Does anyone here have experience with both?

I'm also curious about ring size. Should I go ahead and also get a smaller one for summertime use?

I'm on my third MM device now so I have a little bit of experience with them. First, I hope you bought the sizing rings. They will help you with the correct sizing and save you money in the long run. Fit is different for everyone. I'll make that disclaimer to start with. I've had the oval and the round base rings and the round works better for me. If I were faced with your choice, I would purchase a ring size that was the absolute tightest I thought I could accommodate, then also purchase the next larger size. In reality, you will probably start out with the larger base ring, then progress to the smaller. You could also just purchase one, see how it goes, then send your device back for another ring or to have your ring stretched a bit. In closing, get the cage diameter right the first time because that can't be changed. Trust me on that one.

Is getting into and out of the plastic rings similar to solid rings?

Concerning the security screw, will the lock secure the cage through the same hole? I like the security screw but want to be able to put it on without a key.

oval or round ?

I used the round ring on a CB6000S and have the oval ring on a JailBird. I'd go with the oval.

You could get the round ring and make it oval, you just need some so masking tape to protect the steel and a strong vice, then tighten the vice ! You could reverse the process if it doesn't work for you. Yes, I know it's a bit crude but it works.

I don't know for certain, but I believe you can use a padlock with the security screw version, but this may damage the thread over time. But why use a padlock if you have the security screw, it's a much tidier arrangement with nothing sticking out from the basic structure ?

As I recall, the sizing ring material is a little narrower than the base ring steel, but otherwise a good way to find the base ring diameter. Getting in and out is exactly the same, sizing ring or stainless steel, one testicle first, then the second, then the flaccid penis.

Yes, both the security screw and lock utilize the same hole. I have used both. Using the screw does make concealment much easier but there is just something to be said about hearing the click of a lock. One negative about the lock (at least the type MM ships) is that it has very sharp corners. First time I tried to spoon my wife in bed wearing my cage resulted in my scratching her. Talk about a mood breaker. I have settled on just using the security screw.

I have an unexplainable large collection of very smooth luggage locks. Well, a few anyway.

you can take a file to the corners, don't get too enthusiastic, but I have successfully removed any sharp edges with a smooth file (as opposed to a medium or the picturesquely named "bastard" file)

I smoothed the edges on that lock, but I don't use it since I had my base ring threaded and now use a security screw. The profile is now smaller and more elegant.

I love the security screw for the ease of concealment, and the lack of edges while cuddling. For my wife, it doesn’t matter if it’s sharp or not, it’s an edge, so it bothers her.

I hate the security screw for not being a lock. The sight of the lock is powerful for me. And the key on the necklace is better than the tool. For me.

I believe I will always use the screw.
