6000s cage with 3000 rings?

Post by dryad83 »

Sorry if this has been asked already, I tried searching the forum but didn't find an answer on it.

Does anyone who has had the CB-3000 and CB-6000s know if they use the same rings and pins? I have a 3000 but it's a bit too big for me and I think the 6000s would be that bit more snug so I'm wondering if I could just buy the 6000s cage on its own, or if I should just try to sell or swap the complete set.

The other problem is my 3000 is pink and I don't think the 6000s comes in that colour so it'd look a bit weird, but I guess that doesn't matter so much :D

I think it depends. The new style 3000, I believe, has the same multi-piece base ring as the 6000. If this is the style you have they should be interchangeable. The best way to tell is to check the locking pin, it needs to be a little squared for the newer style.

If it's an old style 3000 it will have hinged rings. If it uses the hinged base rings you will not be able to use the newer style (multi-piece) without modifications to the base ring to accept the squared center pin.

Thanks for the info. I have the new, non-hinged version, so it could work..
