I wish I weren't so good at picking locks, it makes things less fun. But I have to say it is so, so easy to defeat combination locks like this. You don't have to go through every combination, you can open it using one hand in less than 10 seconds. I won't go into details in case some people on the board are enjoying play using these locks, but they are the worst for security (and going for one with 4,5,6 extra numbers on it doesnt make a difference)

Most padlocks aren't all that good. Larger locks are very easily opened with shims, smaller ones can just be broken. Anything small enough to use on a CB can be easily picked. They can also be cut quickly with a Drimmel or with small bolt cutters. The only difference is that picking isn't detectable, you KH would notice if it were in 2 pieces.

Which goes back to the point Sarah makes over and over - this is all really voluntary. Some of the more expensive belts have fairly difficult locks, but don't seem practical on many levels to me.

I hate to break this to you but be prepared to be disappointed. If you do use these make sure to keep them well oiled too.

Haven't tried them yet as I am currently using a plastic single use lock, next time I am allowed to be unlocked I'll try them. Size wise they're a tad longer than the regular master padlock, but they have the curved edges which is nice. They aren't as solid as the regular master padlock, but I think they're fine, probably wont last as long, but they're cheap. They do have a nice feature of needing to use the key to both unlock and lock

That is kind of cool. I like that idea.

Yea me to. Currently after I have been allowed release, my wife will let me sleep out of the device, and I usually then put it on the following morning after cleaning everything and shaving, with these locks that will have to change as I get up much earlier than her, so will be more like - out for release, clean and immediately back in in order to allow her to re lock me
