Staying hygienic during the long hot summer?

First of all, thanks for creating this forum. 1st place I felt I might get some real answers. Heck, I might even be able to show my wife this site.

Anyway, it is pretty much entering the summer hot time where I live. That means approximately 6 months of 90+ temperatures with very high humidity. We’ve played around a little with wearing a device (CB3000) but never wore it long (days); part of the reason was it was just so hot.

Recently started trying out the 6000S and what a huge improvement, I really do forget I am wearing it at times. I am hoping to spend some more time wearing it this summer but we are concerned about the warm, moist breeding ground for undesirables environment this creates considering the outdoor conditions. I’ve got the cleaning swabs from KFH so can scrub pretty well, but even if I get it completely dry in the morning after I shower, as soon as I step outside the sweat will start so much of the day it will be the warm and humid conditions that can grow all kinds of cool things.

Does anybody have suggestions in dealing with this?

The summers in Minnesota are shorter than others' but can be pretty hot and humid. All I've done is maintain my normal regimen of morning antibacterial soap washes and evening warm water rinses. In my experience, summer hygiene isn't *that* much different than winter.

Make sure you're using a silicone lube or even baby oil. A lot of water-based lubes have sugars in them at that would be bad to have in warm, moist places. Other than that, I think you're doing it right already.

I live in a very warm climate, as well. Even with showering in the morning and evening, it's tough to maintain good hygiene in the Summer season. Last year, my KH left me unlocked and on the honor system during most of the Summer season. This year, I'm upgrading to a mature metal device that is more open and I think that will help.

Maybe we need to define what "good hygiene" is. Absence of any odor whatsoever or residual fluid is not practical, in my experience, even when using a Jail Bird. The JB is *better*, but it's still adding nooks and crannies where stuff can accumulate and still interferes in the normal urination process. Even it will stink if you're not careful.

I always use the CB6K as a baseline because it's so popular. My Steelheart is better than that, the JB is better still, but I don't believe any device will demonstrate zero evidence of urine at the end of the day.

I would agree with Thumper. In the real world, the Keyholder unlocks you, sends you to the shower, then the fun can begin. IMHO, perfect hygiene with any device is not really 100% attainable.

Concerned mostly with skin conditions (fungus, general sores, etc…). Interesting you mention not to use silicone lube, why is that? I find that I do need to use some lube, do you have any recommendations for an alternative?

The water based ones I used tended to get somewhat sticky as the day went on, and of course the sugars are bad as you pointed out. Baby oil doesn’t seem like a good idea either for some of those same reasons.

Maybe you’re right, just do the best I can and a couple of times a week have her let me take it off and clean up in the shower……..with any luck I might be able to get her to help out (seems like it just got a little tighter for some reason).

Since I introduced this a few years ago we do essentially use the honor system, she typically doesn’t even try to hide the key and I typically only go “packing” when I am not with her. It would be a huge thrill if she would take charge and not let me have access.

Just had a conversation with my wife for a longer term lockup....mentioned 3 dates of no cumming before then. She misunderstood and thought I meant 3 days. Should have seen her face when the dates I mentioned wound up being 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks.

I should note that I really don't like the idea of coming up with a date, but up to this point she did not understand I was looking for longer. It is completely up to her if she wants to do this, but I wanted to give her some type of time table I was thinking about. We've done that length before when life got in the way before MC, but this will add a whole new dimension (or three). I told her that after the date she could extend it as long as she see's fit.....or I cry Uncle.

IMHO, perfect hygiene with any device is not really 100% attainable.

I think hygiene in this area is a moving target.

When I get out of the shower I am 100% clean. It doesn't matter if I am wearing a device or not. Sometimes I might even be cleaner when wearing a device because I put that much more effort in to cleaning.

Just before I get in to the shower I am NOT 100% clean. It doesn't matter if I am wearing a device or not. So the question really is - Based on the interval that I shower do I get "unclean" to an unacceptable level (whether wearing a device or not)? If so how can that be mitigated?

I have been using a fresh water rinse at night and that is acceptable to me to get through to my shower in the morning. If I am going to be fooling around with my wife then I might take a shower in the evening first.

Well there has been no discussion yet. What has happened is the first night a lot of teasing in the shower with the CB on, then she had me take it off and used my cock to play with her privates for a while.
