How is time counted?

Well my wife solved everything. I suggested being released because I didn't want to risk my family noticing, and she told me No. She went on to say that it is all in my head, that noone would notice, and that she never notices it except when spooning in bed.

I will say that when she said no I was very pleased. I'll save the rest of my experience for my journey entry.
