:sigh:

Actually, I didn't care about the ads, but it did irk me that he didn't ban the spammer, or at least sweep the forums to delete the golf club posts.

He didn't seem to know that he could ban the spammer.

Another reason to love this forum: it's not getting blocked by the Net Nanny here at work! Yeah!

While I can't promise this site will forever be ad-free, I can promise it'll be tasteful, relevant, and unobtrusive.

And I got a pop-up ad from Candy Chapstick! LOL
Yep, it's dead, Jim.

And the silly admin still hasn't cleaned up the golfing idiocy.

Thanks to Thumper for saving us from the stupid popups!

Looks like the "need more clicks" thread, which contained two links here, has been removed. Yesterday, the admin said the ads were required since the site was getting 800 visitors a day. I find that an interesting statement since most hosting plans (even very inexpensive ones) allow either unlimited or very high bandwidth usage. Eight hundred visitors to a site that's primarily text would be using very little resources. Again, it seems clear that MCF was a speculative money-making endeavor stared by someone who didn't really understand the audience he was trying to capitalize on.

Funny he still can't delete the spam posts though.

Amazing how fast the traffic dropped off over there though.

Thanks again for taking this on.

Hmm. That's rather unusual for the internet...
