I am a long distance road cyclist, and this is probably the major thing that keeps me from trying long stretches locked up. I can't see how it would be comfortable, given that saddle comfort is a tricky proposition even without rings gripping your sensitive bits. I also worry about blood flow issues...

I saw this too. It does raise the interesting question: anybody here with any chastity-related health or safety horror stories? This is something I worry about, particularly with steel devices, but I have never actually had any trouble.

This is par for the course for Californication. The show pretty much runs on cheap titillation, so it's not surprising that they went with the garden variety implausible fantasy. As implausible as it is, it's immediately accessible to the wider audience.
